So what's up with the title of Unvisited Lands? It’s a reference to a quote by Christian theologian and novelist C.S. Lewis. He once said that good things, things that we love and which fill us with longing, “are not the thing itself; they are only the scent of a flower we have not found; the echo of a tune we have not heard; news from a country we have never yet visited.” It is the hope and goal of this blog that by exploring the beauty and wonder in the world, you have fresh eyes to see the beauty and glory of Jesus, the ultimate fulfillment of all our joys.

A little bit about me: my writing name is Joy H. I am a follower of Jesus Christ, an enthusiastic writer, and a (struggling) student of chemistry.
I love the band Gray Havens, am obsessed with Lewis and Tolkien, and will never turn down a walk with my family and our golden retriever (or chocolate!)
