Hi, and welcome back to Unvisited Lands! Today's post is a short poem about something that I think that a lot of people struggle with. I definitely do at least! Whether the season of life is busy with demands, overwhelmed with deep struggles, or distracted by festivity, finding time to spend with God in prayer feels really difficult. Something that I often forget, however, is that my true rest only comes from Him.

Whether finding time to pray is easy or hard, consistent or not, I hope that this post is a gentle reminder to come to your Heavenly Father, who loves and welcomes you. It doesn't have to be perfect or long or at the right time in the day. I often feel guilty if I haven't spent time with God early on, but He welcomes us to Him at any time, no matter our mood, sins, struggles, or situations. Whether eager or burnout, we are welcomed to come and find our rest in Him.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." --Matthew 11:28

WAIT WITH ME

Did our own dear Savior stall When He stopped to pray At the hour on that darkest day? No not at all! He took the cross, the bitter gall Yet He did stop to supplicate And arrived still at the appointed date

Above a master the servants aren't But find joy in their given parts Although at the time it seems ill spent It is for our blessed benefit What other strength could we desire Than the love of God, what could be higher?

Than spending time with He

Who loves me--fully, perfectly

Child, come, weary or lost You need not shoulder any cost At any moment, you are free To enter and find the strength you need

He gives us hope; now we can say

We learn that there is time to stop and pray Dear heart, remember, it is best For in His heart, we find our rest

That is so beautiful! Great encouragement of our Savior's willing heart toward us.
